I have been trying to be a creator since I was 18.. give or take an year or two.

I remember was still in its infancy, and I started with a blog. I remember it to be about the future of mankind and AI. I was really proud of my work, and published it. Then waited for it to be read.

Hardly a handful of people read it.

I published a second blog.

This time, the numbers were even fewer.

Grudgingly, I posted a third post.

This time, the numbers were a bit higher, but not up to the mark. I expected hundreds of thousands, not single digit numbers.

Slowly, the interest to write went down. I left that blog.

Then came the second wave, where, after seeing a few of my friends, I started a second blog. This also didn’t go past 20 posts.

The process repeated for 4 other blogs which started and stopped after a month or two.

I always wanted to share my thoughts, wanted to be heard and be known for them. I believed that I had a unique voice, and wanted to telly stories.

Though, I learnt the hard way that it is not the quality, but also the Persistent posting that is required for you to be heard. Giving up is not an option.

The process of giving up is easy. Some day, you do not feel like posting, you do not get an idea or do not know what to write about. Even if you have been posting for a month or 3, if you miss that one day, the chain of consistency is broken. For your mind, missing to is ok.

From then on, you have to start all over again.

You will see people with inferior content becoming successful. This is a fact. Get over it. Also you need to understand why are they successful while you are not. The answer is simple: consistent posting.

Whether they are writing blogs, creating videos, posting pictures on instagram — they have been at it. No matter how shitty their content is.

I remember one of my ex-bosses telling me once — we are not creating monalisa here. Just ship a decent quality product out. No one expects a masterpiece.

That being said, the masterpieces will come. Just don’t wait for all your post’s to be masterpieces.

You need to scratch that itch. Create you must. Just keep at it. For your sake.

Create for yourself, not for your audience.

Just do it.
